Robert is an autistic, visually impaired and self-taught oil painting artist. During lockdown, he started to create oil painting. Creating oil painting calms him down and helps him to be able to concentrate and focus on what he is doing at the moment. It also lifts up the tension in his mind. He loves communicating with people through his paintings. Reaching a wider range of audience will help me developing his style.

When Robert is creating his art work, he enjoys the happiness and satisfaction through working with brushes and knives. He collects ideas through daily life. Some of the topics are shouting out loud in his face. Subsequently, he does some research on the topic. Naturally, there are designs showing up in his mind and never stops. He is eager to paint the pictures out on a canvas. The process of painting does change from time to time while creating the works. It is the beauty of oil paintings that it develops from a layer to next. It properly represents the abundance and diversity of his ideas. The activity is very satisfied when it works out. It brings lots of optimisation and enjoyment to him helping him overcome the mental stress and negative impacts from autism. Hopefully, he will have a chance to study art therapy and do research about how art therapy will help autistic children to have a supportive and positive experience going onto adulthood.
